What is Fiqh?

Module Overview:

This module will allow students to gain the necessary understandings of Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) related to the acts of worship, i.e. purification, prayer, practical method of Ṣalāh, Wuḍū’, Fasting, Zakāh, Inheritance, Islamic slaughter, Marriage, Divorce, Interest dealings, Ḥalāl and Ḥarām etc. The topics have been selected and carefully structured with only the necessary amount of information needed from each topic. The Fiqh will be according to the Hanafi school of thought from the reliable sources of the Hanafi manuals.

Objective:
To gain the understanding of the important topics of Shariʽah that are vital to every Muslims day to day lives.

Learning outcomes:

Upon completion of this module the student will be able to:

1. To be able to act upon the necessities of Sharīʿah as a Muslim knowing that each action is according to the Sunnah while having the confidence in worshipping Allāh according to the guidelines set out by Prophet ﷺ.
2. To gain confidence in all aspects of worship and attain satisfaction it is done according to the guidelines set out by Qur’ān and Sunnah.
